OUR STORY

SCCHE is a group of parents committed to raising their children and forming Catholic families for the greater Glory and Honor of God, under the Kingship of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Queenship of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the guidance of the Holy Mother Church.  Having embraced the Sacrament of Matrimony, we recognize the God-given right and responsibility of parents to be the primary educators of their children in all areas of learning.  Because we wish to re-establish the Kingship of Christ in our society, we have chosen to educate our children in our own homes, whether it is on a full-time basis, commonly referred to as homeschooling, or on a part-time basis, such as catechesis.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

We are committed to fulfilling the vow we made before God as Catholic parents at our children’s baptisms.  We intend to provide a forum for all interested persons who support Catholic parents’ rights to educate their children.  Conferences provide the necessary information, support, and encouragement parents need today.  For the sake of the spiritual and temporal well-being of all our children, it is essential that we unite in our efforts to form Catholic families, homes, and lives.

SCCHE YEARBOOK

Every year, SCCHE puts together a yearbook of southern California Catholic Homeschoolers. Parents may choose whether to be a part of it by allowing their children’s class photos to be included. Mr. and Mrs. Lopez are professional photographers who offer their talents to our homeschool community by photographing each child that would like to have their class photo taken. Parents may still have photos taken even if they do not want to be a part of the yearbook and may purchase them from the Lopez family. Other photos that make up the yearbook come from parents snapping photos during Catholic homeschool or personal events and uploading them into our Treering account. The yearbook is run by parent volunteers. The yearbook committee sends out emails throughout the year about the yearbook notifying parents which pictures the yearbook staff is interested in collecting. This yearbook is not possible without the participation of many homeschooling families.

The yearbook staff is comprised of student and parent volunteers. Contact Cynthia Lopez for more information. Subscribe to our emails if you would like to receive the yearbook emails.
